Travelling to Austria with children

October in Austria is quite cold and it is good to have other places to go for those traveling with children in Austria. Kindermuseum Frida&Fred in Graz is a sensory museum where children could explore and stimulate their senses through its interactive exhibits. The Sound of Music Tour in Salzburg takes visitors to the filming location sites of the movie from the Mirabell Gardens, to Leopoldskron Palace, Hellbrunn Palace, Nonnberg Abbey, Lake Fuschl and Mondsee Cathedral. The Museum der Wahrnehmung or Museum of Perception in Graz allows visitors to touch and try out all of the items on display such as the mixed-identity mirrors and sensory and illusory tricks devised by several artists. Atop a building in Graz is the Glockenspiel, where two windows open when the clock strikes eleven in the morning, three in the afternoon and six in the evening. It shows the figure of a man and a woman clad in traditional costume spinning in time to music. The largest original armory in the world is Landeszeughaus, also in Graz. It has 32,000 items comprising tools, weaponry and armory used by the people of Styria against the invading Ottoman Turks.
